Menstrual Hygine Program
Lack of awareness on menstrual hygiene results into a continuous challenge in the life of adolescent girls even in this civilized society. This is because of the deep-rooted taboo and the level of ignorance in the minds of people about menstruation. Due social misconception, lack of awareness and lack of proper understanding about the human biological development, many girls suffer physically and psychologically. Lack of menstrual health awareness also results in grave health related issues and is also termed as one of the main reasons for cervical cancer at later stages.
This programme for promotion of Menstrual Hygiene combines health education for adolescent girls, providing a regular supply of sanitary napkins and enabling other sanitation measures such as access to water and toilets in schools and in the community through convergence with other programmes.
Under this program The Baby Care Foundation has benefited 3884 adolescent girls and young women.
